Seth Aitken is an Australian Production Designer and Art Director with a broad portfolio across feature films, television, and commercials. He is known for creating immersive, story-driven environments that support strong visual storytelling.
Recent credits include the multi-award-winning series Fisk (ABC), where Seth served as Production Designer. He was also Art Director on Play Dead, an independent WWII feature produced by Nant Studios, and most recently led studio-built environments for NBC’s upcoming thriller All Her Fault, starring Sarah Snook.
Seth has developed deep expertise in virtual production, having worked extensively with Nant Studios since their launch in Melbourne. He brings a practical understanding of how virtual and physical environments intersect — both creatively and logistically — and how they can transition seamlessly in real time.
On All Her Fault, Seth oversaw all studio-built environments and led a push toward carbon-neutral set design, aligning with NBC’s strong sustainability goals. The result was possibly one of Australia’s first fully carbon-neutral studio builds — an approach he aims to share openly across future productions.
In commercials, Seth has collaborated with many award winning directors including, Scott Otto-Anderson, Husein Alicajic, Al Morrow, Mitch Kennedy, Micca Delaney, The Glue Society and Matt Devine to name a few. First and foremost, Seth is a storyteller. His designs focus on building detailed, character-driven spaces that help actors fully inhabit their roles. As a leader, he is known for creating art departments that function like family — collaborative, respectful, and tightly aligned. He mentors emerging talent while continuing to grow his own practice across creative, technical, and logistical fronts.
Seth grew up on film sets and brings a lifelong connection to the screen industries. He holds a BA (Hons) in Fine Arts and combines creative instinct with a deep understanding of the practical processes behind strong production design and art direction.
